Story: I got my period when I was 10 and I always had horrible cramps and such a heavy flow that I had to wear the super size pads and tampons. and at night I had no hope-- no matter what I tried, I always leaked through by morning. It SUCKED. I also only got my period every 3 months instead of every month. I went on birth control when I was like 15 or so to regulate my cycle, and since then my flow is so light I don't even need to use tampons anymore, and my cramps are so much better.
embarrasing story: I got my first period in 6th grade, and I was wearing a 40 dollar white skirt, and none of my friends had pads so I shoved a bunch of toilet paper in my underwear and kept my legs pressed together for the whole day
she's right- a "real period" is when the ova dissolves and flushes out with the uterus lining. A withdrawl period is just the withdrawl of the lining because BC convinces your body it's pregnant by heightening your hormonal level. No ova. So when you start the sugar pills, your body is "withdrawling" from the hormones, and flushes as you would if you weren't on BC.
yea. that person is stupid. and needs to do some research before having sex or opening their mouth, clearly.
“You don’t get a real period on birth control?” That’s a crock. The only time you don’t get an actual period is when you’re pregnant though some women still experience ‘period-like bleeding.’ Birth control CAN help regulate actually.
(in most cases) birth control stops ovulation. thus you only get a withdrawal bleed. not an actual period. educate yourself.
Embarrassing story. So when I was in 8th grade, I spent a 3day weekend with my best friend in a cabin by a lake. I got my period, and only had pads. The bathroom didn't have a trash can. So, I decided that I could just put the pads in the toilet and pray that nothing bad would happen. All was well until 5 minutes before we left to go home, when her mom's boyfriend went to the bathroom. The toilet clogged, and when he unclogged it, my pads came up. She knew it was me, but we never said a word.
embarrassing story: in 7th grade I got my period in music class and I got up to hand a paper in and when I went back to my seat there were stains. I was like 'shit'. I asked to go to the bathroom and the sign out sheet was on this tiny desk that was like 2 feet above the floor. so I had to bend over, let everyone see my blood stained crotch and sign out. the whole class then knew I had my period.
Embarrassing story: One day in grade 9 I was sitting in class and saw that I had leaked. Like a ridiculous amount. It was soo noticeable considering the whole crotch of my pants was covered in blood. Worst part: I couldn't go home or just leave because I had an exam later on that day. Thankfully I was wearing a long sweater and could cover it, but who wants to sit in blood soaked pants?!
Embarrassing story! I was at school and it was day 1 of my period. I had put a tampon in before leaving for school at 7:30. I was sitting in my 1st class and it was 8:30 ish. I shifted positions and felt a gush. I immediately panicked and had to ask my MALE teacher if I could go to the bathroom without my passbook and why it was so important. I was so embarrassed. My underwear were absolutely SOAKED in blood. It had only been 1 hour and it was a super tampon. I cried and had my mom pick me up.
Like almost everyone, my cramps are always terrible on the first day. I was sitting in my psychology class when we started talking about lobotomies. As my teacher started to get into detail, I started to get sick to my stomach while cramping terribly. I ran out of class and I tried to get to my car to drive home, but once I got outside, everything went white and I had to get back inside before I passed out. I had to call my boyfriend half crying pick me up from school in a crowded lobby.
This isn't really a story or question, but I just thought it'd be somewhat appropriate to share on here that I first got my period when I was nine years old. I WAS STILL IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. I'm eighteen now and I can't help but feel a little envious of pretty much every other girl on the planet who got their periods later in life lmfao. God has blessed you if you didn't get your period until you were sixteen.
the first day I get my period is always the worst well, I got mine on a monday morning. So i took some tylenol and left for school. well my cramps were making me so sick, So i asked to go call home and the lady in the front office told me to go to the nurse cause i was pale so i did and i went in basically in tears from cramping and the lady asked me what was wrong and there was this guy id never met sitting in the nurses room so i just said i wasnt feeling well.
I was teching a heavy-duty show that involved moving huge set pieces when I got my period during one of the rehearsals. Thankfully I was wearing blacks, but literally NO ONE had a tampon or a pad, and the nurses office was closed. Turns out one teacher had a tampon, but she used ones without applicators. I sat in the bathroom for 15 minutes trying to figure out how the hell to put it in. Most disgusting experience of my life.
The person who said that people shouldn't go on bc to lessen cramps is extremely able-ist and seems to have no clue about the type of pain that some women go through when they have their periods. It can be debilitating.
I went to france last year with my highschool and of course i got my period. Here's the great part. My french teacher was one of the two chaperones so naturally I went to the other lady and asked if she had midol because my cramps were bad. she didnt so she asked my teacher and my teacher started fighting with me about how midol was no different than advil even though she said she had never used midol.good start to the trip.OH and sharing your teachers tampons is way worse than it sounds.
Last night I was at a Drake concert in Nashville with friends. I was wearing white skinny's by the way. My bestfriend tapped me on the shoulder and pointed out that I had a huge blood stain on the back of my pants, there was a group of cute boys behind us. Luckily, I had sweats in the car but I stood through the rest of the concert feeling mother natures rath. WORST TIMES. IM TELLIN YA. -___-
Girls shouldn't start messing around with birth control as a way of lessening the pain from their cramps. You have to be serious about going on the pill and think it over as it does serious things to your body. You can't go missing one day as it will mess up your cycle and cause your body to also mess up e.g. break outs, weight gain, worse cramps. Only use it if you want to prevent children and/or have PCOS, like me. Be careful and think it through. Don't go messing around with pills.
When I was on the pill my cramps got SO much better. They still happened, but I wasn't doubled over in pain/throwing up anymore. I had to come off it because they gave me migranes, and now my cramps are worse than ever :/ I never gained any weight though- so I would really recomend going on the pill to anyone suffering bad cramps!
i wish bc helped mine. i have PMDD and my cramps leave me bedridden for days. on birth control or not.
so I get horrible cramps and my mom said my cousin had a similar problem and went on birth control to help it. I might consider it but i'm already a big girl and I don't want anything else that will make me explode into anything bigger. I'm reluctant but at the same time, I want out of these cramps
some people say it has helped theirs. it has never done a darn thing to help mine. i’m on bc for the birth control aspect and if i were to become single i wouldnt take it if you paid me. i hate bc. i hate the hormones. and i hate everything about it.
BUT others will tell you differently. lol. it really does differ person to person and bc to bc.
Ridiculously heavy (I have to wear a super tampon and a pad and change every three or four hours), stomped by an elephant cramps, major bloating, migraines and vicious mood swings, periods are hell for me, but I'm nervous about gaining weight on birth control. Should I just try it anyway? I'm so sick of this crap every month.
I have never gained weight on the pill. If you watch your diet more closely, chances are you wont.
Am i the only one who does this?: when i'm on my period i sit down in the shower and hold all the blood in a spot then let it all out and scream blood bath... and i splatter it on the floor like Picasso. when your cramping you have to do something about the pain, that's what i do(: ( i know gross huh)(i mean at least it is in the shower!)
-_- like have sex. often. until you realize how to get better think of it as a sport. the more you practice, the better you’ll get. and open communication is best. don’t be afraid to ask what your partner likes.
I have a somewhat similar story to the one you posted earlier. I was out drinking at my boyfriend's birthday party last Halloween while on my period. Everything was fine, at least I don't remember having sex or stupidly taking out my tampon and not replacing it while I was at the party. However, when I got home that night, I discovered that I was no longer wearing one... to this day, I have no idea what happened to it.
Last year, I had drunken sex with a guy on my period, cause my period stops whilst I'm drinking alcohol. So I took out my tampon for the encounter and the next day, I put one back in and life went on. Over the next week, tampons were going in and out and everything was normal. At the end of my cycle, I took out my tampon but felt something weird. A second tampon came out as well. I actually didn't take out the tampon a week prior. It had been in me for a week. FML. I've never been more terrified
